Präsentation während der DOAG 2021 Datenbank, die von Montag, den 17. Mai 2021 bis Dienstag, den 18. Mai 2021 Online stattfinden wird:
YugabyteDB: a distributed PostgreSQL database
YugabyteDB is an open-source, cloud-native, high-performance database that belongs in the now fully-emerged distributed SQL category. Its “lower half” storage layer uses a shared nothing architecture inspired by Google Spanner that brings linear write scalability, low read latency, and intrinsic fault tolerance. And, uniquely in its category, its SQL processing layer is implemented by using the “upper half” of the PostgreSQL 11.2 code to bring both wire-protocol and SQL dialect compatibility with vanilla PostgreSQL.
This session explains how YugabyteDB’s lower half works and how the PostgreSQL is wired up to this to bring you a cloud-native, distributed PostgreSQL database.
We won’t spend time in our session convincing you that code that runs in vanilla PostgreSQL database runs without modification and with the same effect in YSQL (Yugabyte’s SQL subsystem). Endless copy-and-paste-ready code examples in the YSQL documentation and on blog.yugabyte.com speak far louder to that theme than anything that we might say.
Die Präsentation findet am Montag, den 17. Mai 2021 um 16:00 Uhr statt.
